Urgent: Help Neighbors Impacted by Shutdown

While we remain hopeful that the shutdown will be brief, we are preparing for the possibility of a prolonged disruption, which could lead to increased demand for charitable food assistance from furloughed federal employees, active-duty military personnel, and federal contractors who miss paychecks.

We may also see disruptions in nutrition program benefits such as SNAP and WIC which could further increase demand for our services.

In our region, there are more than 30,000 federal workers, approximately 17,000 federal civilian employees, and nearly 40,000 members of active-duty military that could be affected.
